Rubber Sheeting

Rubber Sheeting

Specialists in rubber sheeting for many years, we carry some of the largest stocks in the industry, at our Bristol facility, backed up by next day deliveries from our factory on non stock items if necessary.

The sheet rubber is manufactured from natural materials and synthetic polymers in a wide range of colours, hardness, thickness and finishes.

Applications include seals, gaskets, washers, insulation, mountings, scrapers and sleeves, in fact the uses often appear infinite.

With so many different grades of rubber around, the most frequently asked question is "which grade is most suitable for my application?" Our experienced Sales team can help you here, but it may help to give a brief outline of some of the different grades available.

Commercial Rubber

Good general purpose rubber, good tensile strength, good abrasive resistance, but not suitable for oil or acid applications. Insertion rubber is also available in this grade, with a synthetic fabric reinforcement.

Neoprene Rubber

Has good resistance to sunlight, ozone and heat, it has moderate oil resistance, widely used externally.

Nitrile Rubber

Excellent resistance to oil and fuel, preferred to Neoprene in these instances, but poor resistance to ozone.

Shotblast Rubber

High quality soft natural rubber, good elasticity, so named due to its use in shotblasting applications due to its high dampening effect.

Food Quality Rubber

A standard in natural and nitrile grades, food approved sheeting, meeting all necessary standards, mainly produced as a White sheet, but also now available in Blue food grade, favoured by food processors as a weapon against contamination, the colour would be clearly identified in the process. The blue sheeting is also standard in nitrile.

Silicone Rubber

Silicone Rubber is high temperature resistant rubber, with good release properties, resistance to ozone and gases but poor tensile strength.

Other high specification sheets such as EPDM, Hypalon and the specialist rubber Viton are all standard to the range.

All rubber sheeting varies in shore hardness, this is the standard measure used for rubber, ranging from soft, reading 30-40° shore, to the harder grades readings up to around 90° shore.
