Provincial Rubber’s skilled plastic fabrication team have been hard at work since the advent of the Covid 19 pandemic manufacturing plastic screens to act as infection barriers in all sorts of settings.

Plastic screens have always been in demand wherever hygiene and worker safety are an issue, but the risk of covid infection caused by airborne viruses has meant they are required in many more situations than pre-pandemic.

We make customised plastic screens, for example, to encase workstations or individual desks, trade counters, shop counters, shop checkout points, pub counters, restaurant tables, hair and beauty salons and production lines.

We can form, bend and weld screens to suit your purposes out of PETG, polycarbonate, acrylic (Perspex) or PVC plastic.

Clear PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) is the most popular choice of plastic for screens because it is highly impact resistant, fabricates easily, is chemical resistant and therefore able to survive harsh sterilisation processes.

Also ideal for customised screen applications is clear polycarbonate with its excellent clarity, which is 250 times stronger than glass but half the weight, heat resistant and flame retardant, easy to mould, cut and thermoform. Polycarbonate is shatterproof and almost indestructible.

Clear Acrylic – commonly known by the trade name Perspex – is a further option that works well for plastic screens both indoors and outdoors. PVC has good hardness and mechanical properties but is not scratch resistant, suitable in some screening situations.

We can manufacture plastic screens to be fitted to an existing wall or support, as hanging screens or as freestanding screens, sized and configured as you require.

Desk-sized screens, for example, can be designed as modular sections with feet and joining discs that can be moved as needed. If you have an open-plan office, perhaps, we can make free-standing screens that divide it into screened off workstations, or configured to surround each desk.

Hanging plastic screens are a useful alternative to free standing screens, suspended with clips and wire hooks through pre-drilled holes for easy fitting with the ability to be moved up and down as required.
