Spiral Wound
Spiral Wound Gaskets are commonly found in industrial plants, withstanding high temperatures and extreme pressure, preventing leaks. These gaskets were invented by a company called Flexitallic in 1912 in response to a demand for safe, effective sealing in severe conditions. Since then the spiral wound gasket has proved itself to be the precision engineered solution to meet exacting conditions withstanding corrosion and toxic media.
Spiral Wound gaskets consist of three parts: the outer ring centres the gasket in a bolted flange joint; the inner ring prevents buckling and consequent damage to the pipeline; and the sealing element made up of windings and filler material.
These gaskets come in a range of metals and alloys with different filler materials, a variety of sizes and styles. They are marked to designate the different styles, indicating their suitability for various applications and the composition of the different elements.
Our experts are available to help you select the correct spiral wound gasket for your particular needs.
